The Young Biologist's Self Contained Ecosystem

This is the four-tiered greenhouse that lets junior ecologists build their own ecosystem and observe the effects small changes have on nature. Combining the provided materials with loam from their own yards, children prepare the soil for their ecosystem, recreating environments such as an arid desert, swampland, or edible crops (seeds not included). The included convection-powered wind turbine demonstrates how thermal updrafts and downdrafts are created as changes in light, heat, and moisture occur. The easy-to-follow manual guides children's decision-making while encouraging open-ended exploration and creativity. When the experiment concludes, the greenhouse can be refilled for another round.
