This picture frame adds dimension and light to ordinary photographic prints by projecting a subtle backlight against the image from behind to brighten and enhance the contrast, making photographs easier to see. Optical diffusers evenly disperse the light of two bright white LEDs to embolden the contrast of black-and-white photographs and illuminate the natural hue of color images. The light panel is only a few millimeters thick and adds no depth to the otherwise traditional frame. The LEDs operate at a low 10 watts which is enough to create clean, clear backlight, but produces negligible heat that will never damage photographs placed in the frame. The LEDs will provide 100,000 hours of continuous, 24-hour use (more than 11 years). The frame accommodates 5 x 7 prints and works best with images printed on unbranded paper. Plugs into AC.
