Worn on the side of the wrist, this is the watch popularized during the 1930s before clocks were a common fixture in automobile dashboards. Updated with precise quartz movement, the watch is built with pivoting lugs, allowing it to be worn comfortably on the side of the wrist--an ideal location for marking the time while still keeping one's hands at "10 and 2." It is faithful to its original size with a face measuring 1 1/4" H x 1" W--men's watches from this time period were characteristically smaller and less intrusive on the wrist. The face has stamped numerals that provide a raised texture to each number, and the subface marks passing seconds. The 3/4" wide leather band fists wrists up to 8 1/2" in circumference.
