The colorful, thick wool slubs that compose this sweater were spun in the last remaining true Donegal "Nepp" spinning mill in the world. For centuries, Donegal Nepp--or tweed--has been renowned for its rich, varied colors that reflect the different tones and textures of Ireland's heather-clad hills and rocky cliffsides. It is made from 100% Merino wool with fibers 27 microns in length that provide exceptional warmth, compared to longer, coarser 28-32 micron fibers. The fibers' natural oils make the sweater water-resistant. The Jersey-stitched sweater has a tight, four-stitch-per-inch weave. The collars and cuffs have a roll edge. Sizes XL and XXL. (1 lb.)
