The Lady's Packable Panama Hat

This is the lady’s packable Panama hat that unfolds back to its original shape when unpacked. Unlike other straw hats that are starched and stiff, this Panama hat is soft and pliable, enabling it to withstand the rigors of travel. Each hat is fashioned by expert craftsmen using the Llano weave—a traditional coastal herringbone-like pattern—that allows it to be gently flattened to fit into a suitcase, a dresser drawer, or between airplane seats. Each hat is made by hand in Ecuador from the bleached leaves of carludovica palmata, or Toquilla palm, a renewable plant fiber used to make all Panama hats, and takes four to five days to complete. This hat’s extra-wide 4" brim provides 360º of sun protection for a UPF 50+ rating—the highest attainable—yet the natural woven fibers allow air to circulate, keeping you cool.
