This sweater's design is true to the original worn by members of the world's most famous cricket organization--the Marylebone Cricket Club. Renowned for establishing the rules of cricket, the club was founded in 1787 and soon after adopted a light blue and navy color scheme used until the 1860s. Made in Scotland by Balmoral Knitwear, purveyors of knitwear since 1880 for England's many school clubs, the sweater is knitted from Merino wool with the light blue and navy bands knitted into the neckband, waistband, and cuffs.
