This is the kit that uses over 9,000 interconnecting plastic pieces to create a 7' tall grandfather clock. A detailed booklet guides builders through the project, using color illustrations to show how each connector and rod piece snap together to form solid, sound structures that bear the weight of the next level of construction. Requiring 24 hours of dedicated effort to complete, the resulting model has an ornate bonnet at the top and a two-tiered base. The clock's tower is open in the front to display the swinging pendulum that hangs 3' from the bottom of the clockface, which keeps time with an hour, minute, and second hand. A built-in speaker built into the clock sounds the chime of the Westminster Quarters at every hour. Three AA batteries (required) power the clock and the speaker while the included AC adapter powers the motor that swings the pendulum. Ages 16 and up. 85" H x 24" W x 17" D. (30 lbs.)
