This is the telematics system that provides emergency roadside assistance, anti theft protection, and GPS tracking for any automobile. If your car has a flat tire, a dead battery, runs out of gas, or requires a tow truck, you can notify a 24-hour call center with the touch of a button and a dispatcher will send the proper assistance. The emergency button on the included key fob alerts the call center to your distress, and the dispatcher will notify the police and provide the location of your vehicle. When a young driver uses the car, you can set the device to inform you via e-mail or text message when the car exceeds a preset speed limit or travels to a forbidden location. The system detects when your car is being broken into and sends a text message or e-mail to alert you of the intrusion, and you can immediately disable the car's starter using your cell phone or a computer. In the event of theft, the vehicle can be tracked using Google Maps, allowing you to see the location of the car and the direction and speed it is traveling. The system simply plugs into a car's OBD-II port under the steering wheel (standard in all cars and trucks manufactured after 1995).
