The Authentic French Aviator Watch

Made by original manufacturer LIP, this watch replicates the dashboard instruments that equipped French aviator Jean Mermoz’s iconic Croix du Sud plane in the 1930s. Mermoz was revered for his bravery as a pilot for Aéropostale—the predecessor of Air France—as he expanded air-mail transport by crossing the Atlantic from Africa to South America. LIP’s onboard controls helped facilitate navigation in Mermoz’s pre-radar era, and this historical watch keeps the original designs alive. The analog timekeeper has large numerals that glow in the dark and Miyota quartz movement that ensures accuracy. Like on the plane, a separate one-second subdial is positioned over the 7 o’clock position, with a date window at 4 o’clock. The splash-resistant watch has a stainless steel case with a mineral glass crystal. Brown leather strap fits wrists up to 8 1/2". Case: 1 1/2" Diam. x 1/2" D. (2 1/4 oz.)
