The Authentic Rainbow Morgan Toner Coin

This is the authentic one-of-a-kind example of a 1885 rainbow Morgan Silver Dollar that bears a unique color pattern thanks to over 100 years of natural oxidation. Known as "toning", the colors evident and their intensity are a result of normal silver oxidation when the coin has come into contact with its original U.S. Mint canvas bag which contains chemicals that react with silver. The result are colorfully toned coins desirable among collectors because each one is unique in appearance. With an "O" mintmark initial on its reverse at the 6 o'clock position, this coin was minted in New Orleans, which produced Morgan Silver Dollars only from 1879 to 1904. Independently graded by the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation to be in Mint state Uncirculated (MS-64) condition, meaning any visible wear or contact marks by other coins is far better than most surviving coins from nearly 140 years ago.
