This watch replicates the iconic clocks found on train platforms throughout Switzerland's 12,600-mile rail network. The simple, bold black hour and minute hands and numberless white face duplicate the enduring clock design created by Swiss engineer Hans Hilfiker in 1944. The watch's easily viewable red sweep second hand features a dot on its endpoint, paying homage to the red paddle used by station managers to signal that a train was about to depart. Made in Switzerland's Central Plateau region by Mondaine, maker of fine watches for nearly 60 years, the watch's Swiss Ronda quartz movement keeps precise time within a stainless steel case and a curved mineral crystal. Black leather band is 3/4" wide. Water resistant to 100'. 1 1/2" diameter case.
