Product Story
Available only from Hammacher Schlemmer, this is the wooden sled handmade in the Austrian Alps. It is produced in Tyrol by a family-owned company that has been handcrafting sleds since 1886—when they were the primary mode of transportation used to descend the mountains. Ideal for schussing in the Salzkammergut, its up-turned runners are made from solid ash with 1 1/4" stainless steel rails on the bottom that provide smooth gliding and precise handling over packed snow or ice. The woven seat measures 21 1/4" L x 13" W and supports an adult or child up to 400 lbs. With a 10° skid slope and a tow rope attached to the front for uphill climbs. 43" L x 10 1/2" H x 13" W.
