The drainage spout automatically strong lowers whenever a steady stream of water flows through it and raises back to its upright position once the flow stops. While in the down position, it funnels water run off to a location 4 1/2 feet away from the home to prevent potential flooding that can occur when water is allowed to seep directly into the building's foundation.
