First enjoyed in Denmark in the 13th century and more recently named Wisconsin’s official state pastry, this 15" oval-shaped kringle has a sweet filling of fruit and nuts topped by a rich glaze. This award-winning version takes three days to prepare using the Old-World technique of dotting the yeast dough with butter and rolling it out three times, resulting in 36 layers of delicate, flaky pastry to be savored for breakfast, with coffee, or for dessert.
