The Award Winning Rocket Playship

Winner of an Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Gold award, this is the rocket playship that encourages young starfarers to think beyond Earth's gravity. Comprising 39 pieces, the playship includes a three-level cutaway rocket, each with three rooms, serviced by a working wooden elevator that operates with a hand-turned winch. Each level's walls feature navigational, environmental, scientific, and medical displays suggestive of interplanetary travel while movable equipment consoles made from hand-tooled maple encourage imaginative play. The rocket is tipped with its own excursion module that "blasts off" for exploratory sorties away from the main landing site. Two astronauts with removable cloth helmets and life support backpacks share duties with a bulbous green "alien" enabling children to role play, problem solve, and imagine. Extra-vehicular activities include three robotic vehicles that survey planetary surfaces, gather "samples", and maintain the solar array. Brilliantly painted in non-toxic, water-based paint.
