Made to the specifications recommended by conservationists, this is the natural wood chalet that provides sanctuary for a colony of up to 30 bats. Farmers and knowledgeable homeowners prize these shy and gentle flying mammals because they help to naturally control insects, pollinate crops, and their guano is a nutrient-rich plant food. Our bat house--constructed of sturdy 3/4"-thick cypress--encourages occupation with plastic mesh on the interior backboard that gives bats a clinging surface, and an extended back panel that provides a convenient landing pad. It is trimmed in mahogany and comes with a hanging hook. Includes a 32-page instruction booklet. Made in the U.S. 16" H x 8 1/2/" W x 2 3/4" D. (2 1/2 lbs.)
