This Christmas tree stand is made in Bavaria, Germany and uses a foot-powered ratchet-and-cable system to securely lock a tree in place, eliminating the need to re-cut and shape trees with trunks 1" to 7" in diameter, unlike other stands that have fixed widths and require you to adjust bolts. The stands patented locking ratchet tightens a cable that pulls five sturdy plastic calipers toward the trunk, which contact and grip it at five places to ensure equal pressure distribution on all sides, resulting in a straight tree. The large 20" dia. base holds up to 21/2 gallons of water and is stable enough to accommodate trees as tall as 12 feet.
