The Boater's Dock Lasso

This is the long-reach dock lasso that simplifies the docking or launching of a boat. Available exclusively from Hammacher Schlemmer, the lasso terminates in a 12"-diameter ring made from weather-resistant synthetic rubber that easily drops over cleats or pilings. The ring is attached to a corrosion- and salt-water resistant telescoping aluminum pole that extends up to 90", making it ideal for boats up to 65' in length. Its textured T-shaped plastic handle provides a sure grip or, alternately, can provide an easy means to snag a rope. With a tensile strength of 900 psi, the rubber’s natural friction grips whatever it is looped over yet it is flexible enough for use in fending off drifting boats.
