The Car Warning Light Translator

This is the device that solves the mystery of a lit check engine light. It plugs directly into a car’s On Board Diagnostic System II interface (OBD II), translates the trouble codes that caused the warning, and sends the information via Bluetooth to a smartphone. A free app compatible with iOS and Android devices displays the problem and severity level, notifying one whether it’s safe to keep driving or critical to call a mechanic. The app also stores multiple vehicle profiles, provides maintenance reminders, and enables one to turn off the check engine light. About the size of a flash drive, the device stores comfortably in a glovebox or middle console.
