This is the classic tweed cap hand-tailored in County Donegal and donned by countless Irish country gentlemen across the country from Letterkenny to Limerick. Made by Hanna Hats, renowned purveyor of fine tweed garments for over 80 years, it is handwoven from 100% virgin wool tweed that is naturally water-repellent. Sought after for its durability and warmth as much as for its rustic charm, the tiny flecks of blue, green, and red woven into the tweed originate from dye made from indigenous plants such as blackberries, fuchsia, and moss. Viscose taffeta lining is wind-resistant. Imported. Hat sizes S, M, L, or XL. (4 oz.)
|M||7 1/8-7 1/4|
|L||7 3/8-7 1/2|
|XL||7 5/8-7 3/4|
To get the proper fit in a hat, we recommend that you measure your head to determine your proper size according to the standard hat sizing chart shown below.
- Use a good quality tape measure, such as those used for sewing, to achieve the most accurate measurement.
- Wrap the measuring tape around your head. The tape should be placed where you want the hat to rest, usually 1/8-inch to 1/2-inch above the top of your ears. For the best-looking and most comfortable fit, the bottom of the tape should touch your eyebrows while positioned straight around your head. Don't pull the tape too snugly or your hat will fit that tightly.
- Once you've positioned the tape exactly where you want it, measure to the nearest one-eighth inch, or three millimeters.
- Measure your head a second and third time to ensure accuracy.
