Product Story

This is the 10-DVD collection that contains 31 original films of NASA’s storied history of space exploration. Spanning NASA’s 58-year history in 15 hours, the films begin with footage of the X-15, the rocket-powered aircraft used to test spaceflight concepts. Alan Shephard’s—and America’s first—flight into space aboard Freedom 7 is followed by John Glenn’s famous orbital flight aboard Friendship 7, Edward White’s spacewalk during Gemini 4, and Neil Armstrong’s iconic moon landing on July 21, 1969. Films also include coverage of zero gravity experiments as well as the Space Shuttle missions. Each section is introduced by American astronaut legends Wally Schirra, Rusty Schweickart, Pete Conrad, and more while Star Trek actor William Shatner provides narration. Boxed set: 7 1/2" H x 10 3/4" W x 1 1/4" D. (1 lb.)
