This is the star projector with a bright halogen light source that transforms any darkened room into a 360° space theater. Viewers select the season, month, date, and hour to be viewed, past, present, or future. The planetarium then provides an accurate view of the sky chosen, projecting hundreds of stars, planets, and constellations on walls and ceiling. An optional dome overlay that covers the star sphere simulates a snapshot of the nighttime sky without constellation names and connecting lines. A built-in compass provides quick star field orientation, illuminated by a nightlight, and a light-pointer "meteor-maker" lets children create realistic meteor-like streaks across the projected night sky. A 45-minute CD takes viewers on a guided tour of the heavens, and interactive astronomy software for PC allows further exploration of constellations, nebulas, and planets.
