Product Story

Combining stargazing with timekeeping, this is the watch that lets cosmologists view the major constellations in the northern hemisphere. While precise Japanese quartz movement shows the accurate time, the watch's shimmering indigo face displays the celestial sphere visible at 35° N. Every 24 hours, the constellation disc revolves to indicate the altitude and azimuth of 1,056 fixed stars (with a brightness of at least 4.8 magnitude) and 169 major nebulae and star clusters at that date and time. The watch also tracks the sun's path along the ecliptic on the 1st, 11th and 21st of the month and shows the local sidereal time, the hours for astronomical twilight and the pole star angle, providing essential data for stellar studies. The analog hands resemble the arms of a compass, the case is crafted from 316L surgical stainless steel, and the black strap is made from comfortable silicone, fitting wrists 5 1/2" to 8". 11:18 displayed. Face 1 3/4" Diam. x 1/2" D. (1 1/2 oz.)
