This is the intricately detailed ornament that replicates the majesty of Downton Abbey, the castle featured in the popular PBS series. Fashioned after the iconic Highclere Castle in Hampshire, England, this glass ornament pays homage to the 1,000-acre estate that has been home to generations of the Carnavon family since 1679. Highlighting the castle’s Jacobean details such as columns, round-arch arcades, pilasters, and a flat roof with openwork parapets—it showcases Renaissance motifs via German and Flemish carvers, rather than those from Italy. These details are evident on the ornament, on the dozens of embellished towers and windows as well as the elaborate trimwork around the doors. Hangs with a 3" long ribbon. 4 1/4" W x 4 1/2" H x 3 1/4" D. (5 1/2 lbs.)
