The Dusk Activated Half Acre Mosquito Trap

This is the half-acre mosquito trap that automatically activates at dusk when the pests are most prevalent and turns off at dawn. A built-in light sensor turns the unit on and off and the trap employs three attractants to lure mosquitoes: an LED light oscillates at frequencies proven to appeal to mosquitoes’ spectral sensitivity, infrared heat simulates human body temperature, and the scent of octenol—the same chemical in human breath. As mosquitoes gravitate to the unit, a fan pulls them into a collection bag where they are trapped and die. The trap uses 5,000-hour rated UV bulbs and its collection bag is removable and can be rinsed and re-used. The collection bag is removable and can be rinsed and re-used.
