Product Story

Using 33 multicolored hand-cut polished stone marbles--including jade, obsidian, jasper, and sodalite--this is the solitaire game that originated in the court of Louis XIV in 1697. Traditionally known as "peg solitaire," the game is played by removing the central stone and then "jumping" stones to remove them from the board (and placing them in the circular tray). The game is mastered when one stone remains--in a perfect game, the final stone rests in the center spot. The board is made of camphor sanded smooth and varnished for a lifetime of play. Ages 12 and up. 3/4" D x 8 3/4" Diam. (1 3/4 lbs.)
