Imported from mountainous northwestern Ireland, this is the lady's capelet of 100% merino wool that keeps the shoulders warm on chilly days. Naturally water-repellant and protective against the coastal winds of County Donegal's stark terrain, the capelet drapes over the shoulders and bust for a cozy layer of warmth that can be worn on its own or tucked inside a coat. The five buttons and wing collar seal out drafts and cover the neck against chills, while the capelet design allows for ventilation and easy arm movement, making it more suitable than a shawl for hiking and other outdoor activities. The traditional Aran knitting pattern incorporates the half-diamond stitch that represents winding cliffside paths. Oatmeal. Women's sizes. (7 oz.)
