This is the duffel bag made from a blanket issued to a member of the Swiss army. Handmade in the tiny village of Engi nestled within the Glarus Alps of Switzerland, each duffel uses a 100% wool blanket at least 40 years old, so each duffel is unique. The top unzips to a gusseted 24" L x 12" W opening that makes packing and unpacking easy, revealing an interior smartly lined with tarpaulin recovered from old trucks that imparts both shape and waterproofing to the duffel. With a plastic insert for a rigid bottom, the interior is organized with a tarpaulin pouch that keeps papers, notebooks, or shoes to the side. Stitched to the pouch are six wool pouches for a smartphone, pens, passport, or camera. Twin carrying straps made from modern safety belt canvas use reinforced stitching for durability; integrated adjustable shoulder strap. With a 7" L x 7" H zippered exterior pocket. 19 1/2" L x 9 1/2" W x 11" H. (3 lbs.)
