The Genuine Thurston Braces

These are the genuine braces made by Albert Thurston, the world's original manufacturer of modern suspenders. The straps are made from boxcloth, the same heavy woolen fabric used when they were first sold in London's Haymarket in 1820. They are tailored to the same specifications as the originals, including ends (or tabs) covered by white gloving leather with handstitched button holes. Adjustments are aided by the two lever buckles. Sought by England's genteel class for nearly two centuries, Thurston braces' reputation for quality has endeared them to heads of state, captains of industry, and other notable men of fame, including the late Sir Ralph Richardson, who secured for himself half-a-dozen pairs at the outbreak of World War II to pre-empt a possible shortage.
