This is the camp axe made by hand with a head pattern-welded in a classic flowing water pattern today known as “Damascus steel.” Its 61/2"-long head is hand-hammered from billets of folded 1095 carbon steel with a 58 hardness rating, imparting a wavy look that resembles the metallurgic mystery of bladesmiths from centuries before. Weighing just 1 lb. 9 3/4 oz., the head makes for a well-balanced tool that serves as a sturdy kindling splitter and a durable brush chopper. The mahogany haft gives it a 19 1/2" overall length.
