The pure wool Harris Tweed is still handwoven by crofters in the Outer Hebrides, the islands off Scotland's northwest coast, where the renowned "Clo Mohr" (Gaelic for "Great Cloth") originated, providing protection from the weather extremes faced by the islanders. A three-layer construction process (each Harris Tweed outer shell is bonded onto cotton canvas with a rubberized solution placed in between the two fabrics), ensures an extremely durable, long-lasting and waterproof bag.
