The Illuminated Shaft Safety Umbrella

This is the umbrella with a glowing shaft that provides increased safety when walking on rainy or snowy nights. Two integral LEDs illuminate the shaft at the touch of a button on the handle, making one's presence obvious to oncoming traffic, and the tip also glows so that the umbrella can be seen from the back. The LEDs cycle through the colors of the rainbow, and, though visible up to 1,485 feet, the glow is not harsh, glaring, or distracting. The ergonomic handle has a comfortable grip, and the umbrella opens manually, snapping smartly into position without latches or buttons, but can be easily lowered without pinching or struggling. Water repellant nylon fabric covers a rustproof steel and fiberglass frame with eight ribs, and the opened umbrella arc spans 48". Three AAA batteries (included) power the light for up to 45 hours.
