This is the jacket dutifully made to the specifications of the original Jacket, Field M-1943 worn by U.S. soldiers during World War II. Designed as the building block of the G.I. uniform, the jacket has four external pockets, favored by troops because they provided more carrying capacity. Made by Cockpit, suppliers of outerwear to the USAF and Navy, this iconic M43 is made from 100% cotton poplin—the original material used when it was first issued to soldiers in 1944. Authentic to the original, this jacket closes with buttons down the front, and the drawstring waist provides a tailored fit. Enhanced for modern use, the jacket is built with a bi-swing gusset in the back—a design feature incorporated into later U.S. Army jackets—that provides expanded freedom of movement for the arms. Includes an interior pocket. Olive. Sizes M (38-40), L (42), XL (44-46), or XXL (48). (1 1/2 lbs.)
