The Modern Markets 1870 Stock Ticker

Exclusively from Hammacher Schlemmer, this stock ticker is an exact reproduction of the first mass-produced models (history's first electronic printer) from the latter part of the 19th century. A blend of old and new technology, this device connects to a PC to print live stock quotes downloaded via the Internet (connecting software included). Simply choose your favorite stocks and the ticker prints out the data as it would have in 1870. The portable ticker can also print short messages from a PC for custom greetings and reminders, or it can print stored messages independent of a computer connection using its remote control. The ticker has hand-milled brass and steel assemblies; hand-wound copper coils and a cast iron base. Individually authenticated, numbered and certified as historically accurate by the Henry Ford Museum & Greenfield Village. It comes with a hand-blown glass dome and handcrafted mahogany pedestal with internal compartment to store the units power module out of sight. Pedestal is finished with a lacquer custom blended by an artist who restores Stradivarius violins. Includes software CD that translates digital information into analog impulses for the stock ticker. Comes with seven ticker tape rolls (one already loaded), ink wheels, certificate of authenticity, tool kit, instructions. Requires Windows 95 or later; operating system not included.
