Product Story

This is the watch with separate hour and minute dials, the same high-precision timekeeping used in 19th century observatory clocks. Relied upon for astronomical observations and by watchmakers as a time standard, the observatory clocks’ dual dials achieved an accuracy of +/-12 seconds per year—precision unequaled by any timepiece of the same era. The self-winding mechanical watch has a 20-jewel automatic regulator—a miniature version of those used in observatory clocks—that oscillates at 21,600 vibrations per hour for accuracy to within seconds per day. A window in the watch dial provides a view of the weighted balance wheel oscillating back-and-forth and the escapement as the jeweled lever releases the escape wheel, advancing them forward with each passing second. The splash-resistant watch has a stainless steel case with a hardened crystal case back that reveals the bronze finished automatic rotor that keeps the watch wound with a flick of the wrist. With a black leather band and a dial etched with an intricate guilloché engraving. Fits wrists 6 3/4" to 8 3/4" in circumference. Case: 1.65" Diam. x 0.47" D. (2 3/4 oz.)
