The Original Christmas Gift

This is the set of three of the ancient world’s most valuable treasures—gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Each of the treasures come in its own hand-made, satin-lined wooden box with brass latches and hinges. An octagonal box reveals a hand-blown crystal globe that contains flakes of 23-karat gold suspended in de-ionized water. A round box contains tears of Hojary frankincense gathered from the resinous deposits of the Boswellia sacra tree in Oman and Yemen (considered the highest-quality available). A square box holds dark red crystals of myrrh harvested from the thorny branches of the Commiphora myrrha tree found on the Arabian peninsula (once valued at seven times its weight in gold). Both resins may be broken to reveal their scent, or burned in a fireplace or charcoal brazier. Each box 4 1/4-4 3/4" W x 3 1/4-3 3/4" D. (3 1/2 lbs. total)
