Product Story

These are the original articles of The New York Times that chronicled the sinking of the RMS Titanic. The articles begin with the ship's maiden voyage from Southampton, England on April 10, 1912. The articles immediately following the disaster provide an original account of the events as they unfolded, including an article that reported over 800 had been rescued by the RMS Carpathia, followed in a few days by another that cut the number in half to 400, and finally a third that raised the total to over 700. A month later, an article includes a picture of the suspected iceberg that sunk the ship, followed the next day by facsimiles of the final radio-telegrams from passengers. The final article on August 15, 1912 announces survivor Madeleine Force Astor giving birth to the late Colonel John Jacob Astor's son. 79 pages. 15" H x 12" W x 1/2" D. (3 lbs.)
