Developed by a team of orthopedic surgeons at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark, and tested at leading medical facilities including Stanford University and UCLA, this is the only doctor-designed and clinically proven back support available. Providing a wider range of full-torso support than traditional pads (which are generally limited to lumbar support only), this is the same pad used by professional stock car race drivers, police officers, and United States Air Force pilots who must endure long hours sitting in strenuous conditions. The pad is shaped to follow the natural curve of the spine, which helps maintain a healthier, more consistent posture by distributing weight more evenly throughout the torso. The support eliminates pressure on spinal discs, and it maintains an open clavicle, which is critical for increase blood and oxygen flow. Sitting upright in proper alignment also helps improve breathing, while significantly reducing fatigue, slouching, neck strain, headaches, arm and leg discomfort, and venous congestion. Suitable for individuals 5' 3" to 6' 2" tall, the lightweight is easily transported from home to car to office. The pad has a precision molded core of medical-grade, high-impact polystyrene resin injected with special compounds to create a sturdy support that will never lose its shape. A layer of convoluted open cell polyurethane foam 28mm thick covers the core and allows airflow to prevent uncomfortable heat build-up in all climates, while a soft fire-retardant automotive-grade velour cover is machine washable and easy to remove.
