The Peruvian Alpaca Sweater

This alpaca sweater comes from Peru, where the wool is hand-shorn once a year from this indigenous camelid of the Andes. Warmer than cashmere and every bit as soft, alpaca fiber is one of the most sought-after natural fibers in the world for its durability, softness, and silky touch. The incredibly fine, hollow hair of these animals provides excellent thermal insulation, yet is lighter than most other animal wools.
