The Play By Number Chimes

This is the beginner's percussion set that teaches the fundamentals young musicians can apply to real xylophones, vibraphones and other mallet instruments. Each of the 11 aluminum chimes is color-coded and numbered to correspond with the included songbook. By following the numbers or the colors, children can quickly learn to play Yankee Doodle, London Bridge, or 13 other classic melodies by striking the correct chime in the correct sequence (60 more songs on the manufacturer's web site). The musical notation and lyrics are printed alongside the color codes so students can become acquainted with reading music. Arrayed from low G to C in a 1 1/2 octave diatonic scale, the chimes can be rotated to display note letters instead of colors. The sturdy steel and wood stand has a wire book holder.
