The Portable Wind Meter

More location-specific than wind readings broadcast from miles away, and more portable than traditional mounted units, this handheld wind meter provides on-site measurements which are vital for sailing, surfing, paragliding, skiing, kite-flying, golf, hiking, and model-airplane flying. The highly wind-sensitive propeller spins freely, sending accurate data to the large built-in LCD screen which displays maximum, average, or current wind strength, presented in your choice of knots, miles/h, km/h, m/s or Beaufort scales. It also shows current temperature (actual or wind-chill) in either Fahrenheit or Celsius at the touch of a button. A protective cap keeps the propeller safe during transport, and can also act as a stand for hands-free wind readings. A battery disconnect feature is offered for power conservation when needed.
