The Princess-and-the-Pea Rocker

Winner of the iParenting Media Award, this is the heirloom-quality childs rocking chair that evokes Hans Christian Andersens fairy tale of the girl who proved herself a true princess by detecting a single pea under a stack of mattresses, a sign that her sensitivity and intuition would become valuable assets as a ruler. The rocker is detailed with royal motifs including a crown-shaped backrest, painted fleur-de-lis, and gold tassels that hang from a padded seat cushion, underneath which rests a single painted wooden pea. The backrest is inscribed with Always A Princess. The chairs posts and routed parts are made from rubberwood, known for its high glue bond strength, resulting in stability that will last for generations. The 28" tall chair has a seat 12 1/2" from the floor, is painted in lead-free, chip-resistant paint, and both the seat cushion and removable heart-shaped back cushion are hypoallergenic polyester.
