Product Story
This Fairisle sweater, created by a century-old Shetland Isle company, is knitted from the spun wool of their native sheep. This breed, unique to the North Atlantic Isles, grows a fleece legendary for its softness, lightweight warmth and wide range of natural colors. The traditional Fairisle pattern of this sweater uses four natural, undyed colors of 100% pure Shetland wool: dark charcoal, beige, brown and grey. The pattern carries only two colors in any one row. Each row is knit with bands of octagons and X's of various designs (called the OXO patterns), with small, delicate patterns (called "peerie") stitched in-between. Knitted in individual, fully fashioned panels for a relaxed fit. Hand wash or dry clean. Sizes M (40-42), L (42-46), or XL (48-50).
