This is the micro-motor that converts a paper airplane into a powered aircraft remotely controlled from a smartphone. With a microcontroller “cockpit”, rear-mounted motor/push propeller, and rudder, the durable carbon fiber fuselage fits into the crease of an airplane you craft from four included thick paper templates. An app on an iPhone, iPad, or Android device controls the airplane from up to 180' away using Bluetooth. Sliding the app’s throttle up/down causes the aircraft to ascend/descend, tilting a smartphone left/right steers the rudder to provide turns, and an artificial horizon displays the airplane’s attitude in realtime; the app also indicates range and battery level. Includes a spare propeller and rudder. Its rechargeable battery provides up to 10-minute flights from a 25-minute charge using the included microUSB cable. Ages 14 and up. 8 1/2" L x 1 3/4" W x 1 3/4" H. (8 oz.)
