Unlike many cashmere garments, which contain blends of other natural fibers, this sweater is crafted exclusively for Hammacher Schlemmer entirely from the fine fleece of Central Asian goats. The yarn is made from six strands of two-ply cashmere, spun by artisans at a 140-year-old family-owned firm located in the Scottish Borders, a region that has been home to a renowned knitwear industry since 1771. The result is an exquisite cardigan with a sumptuously soft hand. As cozy and comfortable as a robe yet as structured and sophisticated as a jacket, the sweater provides the optimal amount of warmth without the bulk or weight of standard knit items.
