Also capable of connecting to a PictBridge-capable digital camera via USB, the battery powered printer produces crystal-clear pictures with vibrant colors without using any ink, thanks to patented composite paper embedded with yellow, magenta, and cyan dye crystals. As the paper passes through the printer, it is exposed to 200 million small bursts of heat that activate the dye crystals, resulting in photographs with rich hues without the hassle of ink cartridges. The photographs are smudge- and tear proof, fade- and water-resistant, and peel off of the backing for display as stickers.
