This is the bicycle hand-built by Pashley in Stratford-Upon-Avon, Warwickshire, evoking a classic time of cycling from the 1920s that eschewed speed and exertion for style and elegance. This classic bicycle's 20" frame's steel parts are shot-blasted, assembled, then hand-fettled using traditional lugged and brazed joints. A Sturmey-Archer 5-speed hub gear system ensures smooth transitions when riding across flats or up hills--the chaincase completely encloses the chainring and chain, preventing lubricant from soiling trousers. Front and rear drum brakes provide confident stops in all weather. An integrated dynamo powers the headlight. The Brooks saddle is made from the highest quality leather "middlings," hand-cut, attached, and expertly stretched around the seat's bracket using nickel rivets. The 26" tires use Schrader valves and have a flexible layer of rubber that provides superior puncture-resistance. Front and rear fenders keep clothes clean. Includes integrated frame lock, kick-stand, tire pump, rear carrier, and bell. Sized to fit inseams from 27" -31" while pedaling (seat post adjusts 5") and provides a standover height of 29 1/2". 70" L x 15" W x 39 1/2" H. (44 lbs.)
