This is the Roomba 870 vacuum cleaning robot that removes up to 50% more dirt than previous generations. It is the first of its kind to forgo typical vacuum brushes and instead uses two extractors with angled treads to break down debris while a 5X more powerful vacuum ensures superior pick up. Unlike bristles that clog or jam from hair and fibers, the extractors’ brushless design makes them virtually maintenance free. Integrated optical sensors detect dirtier spots and acoustic sensors determine when the vacuum is working harder, prompting Roomba 870 to concentrate on these areas. Made by iRobot, developers of tactical reconnaissance robots for the U.S. military, Roomba 870 actively engages with and adapts to the floor it’s cleaning, making over 60 decisions a second to optimize its performance. The cleaning head automatically adjusts to accommodate carpets or hard floors and a large HEPA filter captures dirt particles as fine as 0.3 microns. It can be scheduled to automatically clean up to seven times per week or prompted to spot clean. Featuring the latest battery technology, Roomba 870 offers double the battery life of earlier models. It automatically returns to its charging base when its battery runs low and the two included Virtual Walls keep the robotic vacuum where you need it by blocking off-limit areas.
