The Wegner Inspired Lounge Chairs

These are the outdoor lounge chairs inspired by the designs of Danish furniture master Hans J. Wegner with a slide-out ottoman for putting one’s feet up. Wegner’s 1940s originals greeted sitters with wide seats and curving backrests, quickly becoming world-renowned for their stylish functionality. An homage to the designer’s vision, these chairs’ fronts arch laterally outward to seamlessly blend with the long armrests using only mortise and tenon joints. Presenting the same classic Wegnerian wide, shallow-U front profile, they invite relaxed sitting on their subtly curved 18"-wide x 19 1/2"-deep slatted seats. The built-in ottoman has two adjustable positions and slides back under the seat when not in use. The loungers are made from Brazilian eucalyptus, one of the densest, strongest woods in the world. Strong yet light, with a Janka hardness rating 30% higher than mahogany, the wood’s natural oils and tight grain prevent damage from rain, mold, and termites for confident outdoor use and storage.
