These heated wool socks provided a full 2 1/2 hours more warmth than the nearest model in tests performed by the Hammacher Schlemmer Institute, earning the socks a Best rating. The socks' rechargeable lithium-ion battery (worn in a belt clip) provides up to seven hours of adjustable (high or low) warmth from a three-hour charge, compared with the 4 1/2 hours of warmth provided by other tested models. The heating elements built into each sock's nylon sole reached a toasty 120.3º F, 20º warmer than another model. The socks also won The Best rating for their comfort because the 50" cord that attaches the battery to the socks accommodates most pant lengths, and one panelist noted they were the "only model that provided warmth for my entire foot--the rest of the models only warmed my toes."
